This is very relatable, Christina. Maybe a trick is to use your connection with your writing community and helping others as the reward you give yourself after you've worked on your manuscript.
Totally get it! My manuscript, although not strictly speaking a memoir, is neglected and moving along at snail's pace, but I check in online every day. It is difficult to wean ourselves off the dopamine hits that come from connection, growth and reaching milestones, and to focus on the more solitary, long task of writing a book. I'm sure it's all part and parcel of the process, but it does help to know we are not alone 💗
